23.21 Photography Photo Shoot!

Lindsay and I have been blessed with our first at-home visitors since Cathen's birth! Her older sister, Rory, and her younger brother, Brett, in addition to Rory's boyfriend, Mike, made the drive from Lincoln/Omaha as soon as they heard the news of Cathen's arrival.

What a wonderful surprise to have family in town to celebrate the excitement with us. The added bonus is that Rory and Brett have a plan to start a photo-studio of sorts (search: 23.21 Photography on Facebook), so Cathen will be their second ever client (they took photos of Charlotte Stevenson - Megan's baby girl - last month. Megan is the third Sallach girl: Rory, Lindsay, and Megan). Attached are some shots during their photo shoot.

Enjoy!

Cathen Elizabeth Young

I suppose the birth of our first child, miss Cathen Elizabeth Young, is as good a first blog entry as any!

 Cathen Elizabeth Young

Cathen was born on August 17th at 11:29 after a relatively short labor. She is 6 pounds and 18 inches, placing her about the 20th % for both weight and length. The delivery went smoothly, and Lindsay and Cathen are doing very well.

It is humorous/ironic that Lindsay dropped her mother, Kay, off at the airport the morning of the 16th with every intention of not having this baby until September 1st. However, the OB appointment that afternoon brought new plans to the table, and try as we might, Kay's flight was already pulling out onto the tarmac when she got the update. So, the induction process was begun, and the next morning we were proud parents of a beautiful little lady.

Kay did make it home safely, and it is a huge blessing that she is able to alter her itinerary and will be returning to Denver on the 24th - about the time that I have to head back to work - to lend a hand.

My first bath!

All clean
Cathen is awesome. Lindsay looks graceful as ever. This is truly a day that we will always cherish. We thank God, and we thank you for your support and prayers. More to come...
